Vetiver


Vetiver grass incense or wipe all or Vetiver (nomenclature of two parts: Chrysopogon zizanioides, meaning: Vetiveria zizanioides) is a perennial grass species belonging to Hoa draft (Poaceae), originating from India. The name is derived from vetiver Tamil. The ancient Tamil documents referring to the use of herbal articles for medical purposes.
All vetiver can grow up to 1.5 meters high and form large bushes near the same. High stem, the leaves long, thin and hard. Brown light purple flowers. Unlike most grasses root system extends horizontally like a carpet, grass root systems of all flavor and deep down upright on the ground to a depth of 2-4 m. It has a close kinship with other fragrant grasses such as lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus, C. nardus, C. winterianus, C. martinii).
All fairly easy to grow vetiver, easy living, drought tolerant, pest-less, waterproof and water retention. It just prefer dried hydrophilic, grow in any soil type, regardless fertility. The grass is propagated by root clusters, cuttings. Grows large clumps or clusters.
Although it originated from India, but now all herbal widely planted in tropical regions. The national and regional production mainly Haiti, India, Java, Réunion.
